Leicester Tigers colleagues Ben Youngs and Tom Croft launch their new coffee and doughnuts venture at Welford Road this weekend.

The duo’s ‘96 Coffee By Numbers’ project will be unveiled for the first time at Saturday’s local derby match against Northampton Saints at the home of the Tigers.

Supplied by St Martin’s Coffee in Leicester and The Nottingham Doughnut Company, ‘96 Coffee By Numbers’ will be located in Final Whistle and open throughout matchday.

“We have talked about having a business for quite a while and the idea of coffee and doughnuts came up,” said Croft. “It’s something that hasn’t been done at the stadium before and we hope it will be very popular.”

Plans have been in progress for about six months and now Young and Croft can see their dream come to fruition.

“Some people probably think we’re just messing about and said it wouldn’t happen so it’s great to see the original doodles come to life with building and installing the bar ready for its first game,” said Croft.

“The doughnuts are hand-made and hand-turned, and we’ll have five or six flavours which we’ll rotate for games. We want some feedback too so we know the most popular ones to stock.

“St Martin’s Coffee have been huge in getting us this far. They’ve held our hands and walked us through step by step with everything from selecting coffee beans to finding the carpenter to make the bar. We’ve had a couple of lessons with Ollie and Andy, and it’s been interesting to see the whole process.

“The bar looks great - there’s lots of shiny buttons to keep Lenny interested! We’re looking forward to getting started.”

96 Coffee By Numbers will be open pre-match, during the match and post-match in Final Whistle which opens early this Saturday for full live coverage of England’s match against Australia from 2.30pm ahead of Tigers versus Saints at 5.00pm. Match tickets are still available from the Tigers ticket office.
