Voting is now open to find the Lumbers Tigers Player of the Month for December.

Ellis Genge, Luke Hamilton and Ed Slater are on the three-man shortlist and voting is available at www.lumbers.co.uk/lumbers-player-of-the-month

They will be aiming to follow the first two winners this season Adam Thompstone and Freddie Burns.

Genge made 14 carries against his former club Bristol, the most by a Tigers player in the game, one of which led to his first try of the season in the win at Ashton Gate. His defence has also been effective with a 100 per cent tackle rate against Bristol and Northampton.

This is a second successive nomination for Luke Hamilton. He was in the heart of the action in the win at Bristol making 14 carries, six tackles and hitting 36 rucks and mauls. He was also to the fore in the home victory over Northampton, making 15 carries, the most by a Leicester player, nine tackles and hitting 18 rucks.

Slater has been in some of his best form with high work-rate allied to strong set-piece work, which includes a high number of steals on opposition lineout. He is also won 10 turnovers in the Aviva Premiership, the most by a Tigers player this season, including a crucial one 5m from the Leicester line in the closing stages of the win against Northampton.

Established in 1881, Lumbers jewellers have been at the heart of Leicester for more than 135 years – just like the Tigers – and are the new sponsors of the monthly award.
