Young forward Will Evans has agreed new contract terms with Leicester Tigers.

Evans made his first-team debut last season, becoming the latest academy graduate to establish himself in the senior squad at Welford Road.

He has now followed colleagues Graham Kitchener, Peter Betham and Dom Barrow in announcing an extension to their contracts at Tigers.

Tigers head coach Aaron Mauger welcomed the commitment of the players and said: “All those guys have made quite an impact in top-level rugby with Tigers. We’re delighted to see them commit to the club and look forward to their continuing development here in a strong and competitive squad.”

The 19-year-old Evans, who is now approaching 20 appearances for the club, said: “It’s fantastic to stay at the club. I’ve supported this club ever since I was at school so all I’ve ever wanted to do is play for Leicester Tigers.

“I hope to get a few more starts under my belt but I’m going to have to work hard in training and try to keep improving.”
