Leicester Tigers attendances have topped 100,000 over the last four home games at Welford Road.

The best-supported team in English rugby, Tigers ran out in front of a crowd of more than 25,000 for the New Year’s Day fixture against Saracens, taking the total attendance for the four fixtures from the end of November to 100,117.

After welcoming a capacity 25,849 crowd for the win over Harlequins on November 20, Tigers sold more than 24,000 tickets for the visit of local rivals Northampton Saints and the European Champions Cup match against Munster before Christmas and then welcomed a gate of 25,248 for the New Year’s Day fixture against Saracens.

Tigers chief executive Simon Cohen said: “We all know that Welford Road is a fantastic rugby venue and to welcome more than 100,000 fans over four games says everything about strength of support from the Tigers Family and the matchday experience here.

“The players acknowledge just how much that level of support means to them and the team will want to give the fans something to cheer about in the remainder of the season as we have a number of big games to come here.”

After Saturday’s European Champions Cup fixture against Glasgow Warriors, Tigers host Northampton Saints in a local derby on Saturday, January 28 and with both sides unbeaten in their Anglo-Welsh Cup fixture so far that promises to be another big occasion at Welford Road.

Gloucester, Bristol, Exeter Chiefs, Newcastle Falcons and Sale Sharks are all due to visit Tigers in the run-in to the end of the Aviva Premiership season when every point will be vital in the chase for play-off places.

Tickets for home games are available now from the Tigers ticket office. Book in person at Welford Road, phone 0116 319 8888 (option 2) or book online.
