Voting is now open for the Lumbers Player of the Month for January with Pat Cilliers, Luke Hamilton and Jack Roberts on the shortlist.

South Africa international prop Cilliers has made a big impression in the last few weeks with his set-piece and defensive work. He anchored the scrum against Gloucester that won the first penalty try of the season and won two turnovers, the most by a Tigers player in the game.

Hamilton, the Lumbers Player of the Month for December, receives a third nomination of the season for the award. The back-rower scored his third try of the season against Gloucester and was only denied a another by the award of a penalty try in the bonus-point win.

Roberts was a stand-out performer against Gloucester. The centre made 45 metres and beat five defenders, the most by a Tigers player in the game, and helped create the opening try for Luke Hamilton.

The name of the Lumbers Player of the Month for January will be announced at half-time of Saturday’s Aviva Premiership game against Bristol Rugby at Welford Road.

Roberts is in the running along with Ed Slater and Tom Youngs. The trio will be aiming to follow this season’s previous winners Luke Hamilton, Adam Thompstone and Freddie Burns.
