Harrison pleased with confidence and resilience

Sam Harrison says Leicester Tigers will not get ahead of themselves after closing the gap on the Aviva Premiership top four to a single point going into Round 17 this weekend.

Tigers inflicted a first home defeat of the league season on Harlequins at the Stoop on Friday evening with a 27-18 success.

The result followed up back-to-back bonus-point wins at home against Gloucester Rugby and Bristol Rugby and means Tigers are one point outside the top four ahead of this Friday’s Welford Road clash with Exeter Chiefs (kick-off 7.45pm).

Harrison, who got the ball rolling on victory at the Stoop with the opening try, his fourth of the campaign, said: “We’re getting more resilient in each game we play but at the same time we know there’s a long way to go.

“We won’t be happy until we’re in the top four. When we get there we won’t be happy until we’re in the semi-final.

“There is a confidence growing but at the same time we need to keep improving each week and Exeter’s going to be another level up for us.

“We’ve just got to take each game as it comes. It gets said a lot but we have got to do that and we’ve got to keep chasing."

Match tickets for Tigers against Exeter in the Aviva Premiership are on general sale. Book now on 0116 319 8888 (option 2), online by clicking here, or in person from the Welford Road ticket office.
