Hamilton hands over to Fischer in England shirt

Leicester Tigers back-rower Luke Hamilton visited the offices of club partners Fischer Energy to hand over a charitable donation to the company's head of operations Brad Goodfellow - and he had to wear an England shirt to do it!

At the launch of Fischer Energy plc, proud Welshman Luke and die-hard England fan Brad entered into a friendly competition in front of guests including Iain Duncan Smith MP and Leicester City footballer Christian Fuchs.

Pledging £50 to Fischer’s charity partner Marie Curie on the outcome of the Six Nations clash between the two countries, it was also agreed that the loser would have to hand over the cash wearing the winning team’s kit.

Despite an obvious lack of comfort in rival colours, Luke manned-up and donned the England shirt to offer his donation to a grateful Brad.

Hamilton said: “It’s going to be hard to live this down with the English lads at the club, but it’s for a great cause so I’m happy to suck it up and congratulate Brad and England. We’ll have you next time!”

A spokesperson for Marie Curie, who provide care and support for people living with terminal illness and their families, said: “The £50 donated by Luke is enough to pay for two-and-a-half hours of Marie Curie nursing care and will go a long way to supporting people living with a terminal illness and their families when they need it most.

"We are delighted that Fischer Energy has chosen to support Marie Curie and look forward to working with them over the coming months.”
