Matt smith says he will remember the Anglo-Welsh Cup success for the rest of his life after making his 200th appearance for his home-town club in the Final.

Smith came on as a second-half replacement at the Twickenham Stoop to reach a double century of games for Leicester Tigers and help them to a 16-12 victory over Exeter Chiefs.

It was Smith's 25th game in the Anglo-Welsh Cup, a club record and three more than Sam Harrison, who has the second-most appearances in the competition.
 
His family, including his son, Monty, and dad, Ian ‘Dosser’ Smith, the former Tigers captain and coach, were there to watch him reach the landmark and to lift the trophy along with Marcos Ayerza.
 
“I was quite emotional on the morning when I woke up,” said Smith, who made his debut against the Barbarians at Welford Road in 2006. “I feel very lucky to have played one game for my home-town team but to play 200 games for what I class as the best club side in the world is something I will treasure forever.
 
“All of my family were there. It’s brilliant. I will remember the day for the rest of my life. It is a very special day.”
