Welford Road welcomed some of the biggest names of Leicester Tigers' past and present to the club's first Six Nations Review Dinner.

Tigers legends Graham Rowntree, Lewis Moody, Jim Hamilton and Harry Ellis joined current stars Tom Youngs, Ed Slater, Manu Tuilagi and Tom Croft as well as assistant coach Geordan Murphy for a review of this year’s championship and an insight into the British & Irish Lions tour to New Zealand.

The event was staged in the Premiership Suite in the Holland & Barrett Stand at Welford Road on Tuesday, March 29.

Guests enjoyed a three-course dinner, a raffle of signed memorabilia, plus Q&A sessions with some of Tigers biggest names of past and present.

Hosted by ex-Tigers lock Matt Poole, the evening was the first of what is to become an annual dinner for supporters and businesses at Welford Road.

Covering topics ranging from Tigers recent Anglo-Welsh Cup triumph to this year’s RBS 6 Nations, as well as an in-depth look into the upcoming Lions tour of New Zealand, guests enjoyed an evening of laughter, stories and unique insight.

Some lucky fans also walked away with exclusive raffle prizes including a framed series of Six Nations programmes and a signed Tigers shirt. A game of ‘Try or No Try’ got everyone guessing which plays from the Six Nations resulted in five points.

Andrea Pinchen, Tigers commercial director, said: “We couldn’t have hoped for a better evening. It was fantastic to welcome back some of our past players alongside our current crop to share their stories and insights of their experiences on the international stage.

“We will be making this an annual dinner and, with not a spare seat in sight tonight, we’re delighted that our first Six Nations Review Dinner was received with such interest.

"Welford Road is a leading venue for all types of functions and events, and so it’s brilliant to add another date to our calendar.”

Matt Poole added: “It’s always great to get the lads up on stage and let the conversation flow. From poking fun at one another, to gaining incredible insights on the game we love, it’s a fantastic way for fans to get even closer to the players. Our thanks to Tigers for organising the evening and I hope it will be the first of many more to come.”
