Twickenham games are big occasions - Tait

Mathew Tait says Leicester Tigers are looking forward to a return to Twickenham Stadium for the Aviva Premiership fixture against Bath Rugby next Saturday.

Bath chose to take their ‘home’ fixture in Round 19 of the league season to the national stadium and report tickets sales of more than 50,000 for the day. Tigers will be making a first appearance at the stadium since the 2013 Premiership Final win over Northampton Saints.

Full-back Mathew Tait, who knows the stadium well from his international career with England as well as playing in that 2013 Premiership Final, said: “I’m looking forward to it, playing in big games like this is why you want to be at the big clubs.

“There’s going to be good crowd and a great occasion.

“It’s still very much in our own hands with four games to go, we’re in the top four at the moment and come the business-end of the season we’ll always  be there or thereabouts,” added Tait, who last week agreed a new contract at Welford Road beyond this season.

Tickets for Saturday’s game are still available via Ticketmaster. For ticket details of all remaining Tigers fixtures, including home games against Newcastle Falcons and Sale Sharks in April, click here.
