More than 40 junior rugby teams are taking part in the first Tigers Challenge Festival of the year at Butlin's Bognor Regis this weekend.

Supported by Leicester Tigers and staged at the award-winning Butlin’s resorts, the Tigers Challenge is a series professionally organised festivals bringing junior teams together for a fantastic weekend of rugby and fun.

This weekend’s festival includes teams from under-7s up to under-12s in a weekend of rugby which will conclude with Leicester Tigers centre George Catchpole joining the presentation ceremony on Sunday.

More than 1,000 players and supporters are expected to join the fun at the Bognor Regis resort during the Challenge.

Juan Gonzalez Mendia, community manager at Leicester Tigers, said: “The Tigers Challenge is a great weekend for young rugby players and their families. We invite teams from all over the UK to get involved. A big thanks must go to Butlin’s for hosting the weekend event.”

Martyn Young, director at ESF Events who help to organise the Tigers Challemge, added: “We’re really looking forward to kicking off the first Tigers Challenge of this year. This is now our sixth year of the Tiger Challenge. We’ve had lots of interest and, with two further festivals lined-up at Butlin’s Minehead, we will be welcoming more than 250 teams on tour at the Tigers Challenge this year.”
