Leicester Tigers academy duo Joe Heyes and Tom Hardwick are included in the England Under-18s squad for the opening game of the International Series, against Canada Under-19 this Saturday.

Tighthead prop Heyes and fly-half Hardwick have both represented England in fixtures during the Six Nations period this season and are named among the replacements for Saturday’s game.

England head coach John Fletcher said: “This competition is a fantastic opportunity for players to develop as a team and individually. We have picked a strong squad and as a group we will aim to get better game on game.

“It’s not often we have the chance to spend a prolonged period of time with the players so we are really looking forward to the time together in Swansea.”

This is the first of three matches for England in the International Series with games against Ireland Under-18s on Wednesday, April 12 and Scotland Under-18s on Sunday, April 16.
