Kegs and Eggs at Welford Road for second Lions Test

Figure image

Welford Road opens its doors for Kegs and Eggs for the second British & Irish Lions Test this Saturday.

Former Tigers favourite Harry Ellis will join fans in the Final Whistle in the Holland & Barrett Stand to offer his insight on the game, which kicks off at 8.35am BST.

In team news, Sam Warburton will captain the Lions in Wellington after replacing Peter O’Mahony in the starting line-up.

Head coach Warren Gatland has made three changes to the team with Maro Itoje in the second row for George Kruis, and Johnny Sexton at fly-half with Owen Farrell shifting to inside centre instead of Ben Te'o.

Courtney Lawes, Jack Nowell and C.J Stander are named on the bench after impressing against the Hurricanes on Tuesday.

Head coach Warren Gatland said: "This is a big chance for these players to go out and show what they are capable of on Saturday night.

"For the players retained from the first Test it's an opportunity for them to step up and to show an improvement because individually they were disappointed and you have another group coming in who are also desperate to seize their chance."

Fans attending Kegs and Eggs could win a 2009 British & Irish Lions jersey signed by Ellis. The former Tigers, England and Lions scrum-half, who toured South Africa with the Lions in 2009, will give it away to one lucky fan attending the event in a one-off prize draw.

Sausage, bacon and egg sandwiches will be available in Final Whistle in the Holland & Barrett Stand, with tea, coffee or fruit juice and a pint or soft drink for supporters following the big-match action.

Tickets for each Kegs and Eggs day are £10 for season ticket holders and £15 for non-season ticket holders. Doors open at 7.30am so you can follow all the pre-match build-up ahead of the live action.

Parking is available on the Crumbie Car Park at the stadium. Click here to book your place or call 0116 319 8888 (option 2).
