Scott began the 2006/07 season as an England tourist having been part of the summer tour to Australia, but his year eventually ended in disappointment following a knee injury picked up during the home win over Bath on March 24. The former England Students captain made 21 first-team appearances during the double-winning year, playing in all three domestic and European competitions. He made his debut in September 2004 against Leeds Tykes, having moved to Leicester from NEC Harlequins where he helped the Londoners win the Parker Pan Shield with victory over Montferrand (now Clermont Auvergne) in May 2004.
The ex-Luctonians scrum-half previously represented England and The Midlands at colts level and won the County Colts Championship at Twickenham with the North Midlands in December 1997. Educated at the Bishop of Hereford's Bluecoat School and later at Harper Adams University, Scott left Luctonians to join Moseley Colts in 1997/98, the season they won the National Colts Cup in an unbeaten campaign. He made his debut in the Allied Dunbar Premiership Two for Moseley in 1998 before gaining his first taste of top-flight rugby with Quins three years later.
