Frank became a Tigers player in the summer of 2006 having joined the club from then European champions Munster. The scrum-half had previously played for University College Cork up until the summer of 2003 and eventually made 15 appearances for Munster in the Celtic League prior to his move to Leicester. Educated at Christian Brothers College, Frank has also previously played for Ireland at Schools and U-21 level during his time in his home country. Since joining Tigers, Frank’s international career has progressed even further as he won his first Ireland A cap during the 2007 Churchill Cup.
After starting the 2006/07 season as the least-experienced of Tigers’ three scrum-halves, Frank made a real name for himself, both inside and outside of the club, with a string of impressively consistent performances. He finished the season wearing the No.9 shirt after being named in the starting line-ups for both the Guinness Premiership and Heineken Cup Finals, scoring a try in the former. In total, he made 24 first-team appearances last term, including 11 starts.
