The most-capped player in England’s elite squad for the 2012/13 season, fly-half Toby Flood ended the campaign by leading out Leicester Tigers in his third Premiership Final and collected a third league title in five seasons.

Though memories of the 2013 Premiership Final may be a little fuzzy after suffering concussion in the first half against Northampton Saints, Flood had other highlights to look back on in the season as he made the 100th Premiership appearance of his career in the win over Worcester Warriors in January 2013 and passed the 250-point mark for England during the autumn internationals in 2012, to move fourth on the nation’s all-time list.

Selected in the ESPN Dream Team for 2011/12, he started the LV= Cup Final win with Tigers but missed the Premiership semi-final and final after injury in a Round 22 win over Bath.

Shortlisted for Six Nations Player of the Championship in 2011, scoring 50 points as England won the title for the first time since 2003, Flood played in his second Premiership Final with Tigers that season, kicking all of his team’s points in defeat by Saracens.

Flood scored a try on his Tigers debut in victory at Gloucester in September 2008 shortly after his move from Newcastle Falcons, but he missed the end of the season after suffering an Achilles injury in the memorable Heineken Cup semi-final at Cardiff.

He made his England debut against Argentina in November 2006 and went to the 2007 World Cup squad as an injury replacement for Newcastle clubmate Jamie Noon, playing in games against Australia and France as well as in the Final against South Africa. His 50th cap came in the third Test against South Africa in the summer of 2012.
