New Zealand-born hooker moved across the East Midlands from neighbours Nottingham in the summer of 2009 and ended his first season in the Guinness Premiership Final squad for the win over Saracens.
Joe had spent a five years in two spells at Nottingham, playing a major part in their National League One progress. He was an ever-present during his second stint from 2005, he racked up 120 consecutive appearances and was named Player of the Season in 2008/09 as Nottingham finished fourth in National One.
He teamed up with Tigers in time to play his part in the pre-season programme in 2009 and joined the matchday 23 for the first time in the opening home game against Newcastle Falcons. His first start came against Worcester in October 2010 and his first European experience came in Viadana.
