A first season in England in 2007/08 ended with appearances in two domestic cup finals for hooker Benjamin Kayser who then collected his first senior international recognition by travelling with France to the summer tour in Australia, making appearances in both Tests.
Benjamin arrived at Leicester from European rivals Stade Francais in the summer of 2007, just months after being a member of the Paris club’s squad beaten in a Heineken Cup quarter-final at Welford Road. He was named on the stand-by list for the Rugby World Cup squad after already representing his country at U-21 and A level.
He joined Tigers fresh from victory in the French Championship Final in 2007 as Stade beat Clermont Auvergne 23-18. He also gained top-level European experience and, despite still being in the early years of his career, he appeared as a replacement as Stade reached the 2005 Heineken Cup Final only to lose 18-12 to Toulouse at Murrayfield
His first try in Tigers colours came in the home win over Worcester Warriors during 2007/08.
