Leicester Tigers will break new ground when Welford Road hosts a stadium concert for the first time this summer.
Brit Award-winner Will Young is the headline act for Friday, July 16, with a full supporting bill to be confirmed.
Leicester Tigers chairman Peter Tom CBE said: "We are thrilled that we have a big summer gig in place for Welford Road.
"The club has been working hard with our promoters Squareleg Entertainment to bring live music to Welford Road and are delighted to have secured one of the country's most popular performers.
"We have been working closely with Leicester City Council to ensure there are no clashes with other events in the city and it will be great for Leicester as a city to be able to host stadium concerts for the first time.
"With the new 10,700-seat Caterpillar Stand we have put ourselves in a good position to host stadium concerts.
"We are hopeful of announcing the details of a second summer concert shortly. We believe these events will put Tigers on the stadium concert map."
Will Young has sold more than eight million albums since winning the original Pop Idol competition in 2002.
His debut single Evergreen/Anything is Possible was the biggest selling single in the UK in the last decade while the worldwide hit Leave Right Now was nominated as the Best British Single of the last 25 years at the 2005 Brit Awards. He won the Brit Award for Best Breakthrough Artist in 2003 while his song Your Game landed him the Brit Award for Best British Single in 2005. His 2009 greatest hits album The Hits was one of last Christmas's top sellers, giving Will Young his fifth platinum album in seven years.
Malcolm Spencer, event director at Squareleg Entertainment, said: "This is a fantastic opportunity for Leicester Tigers and I am sure Will Young will be delighted to be one of the first artists to perform at Welford Road."
Ticket details are set to be announced next week. Keep an eye on www.leicestertigers.com for details.
