Aled Walters joins Leicester Tigers as Head of Physical Performance after a decorated career including, most recently, helping South Africa to victory at the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan.
The Welsh-born Walters completed a BSc in Physical Education and Sports Science at the University of Loughborough in 2002 before completing his MSc in Strength and Conditioning at the University of Edinburgh in 2004.
Walters joined the Scarlets in 2005 before moving to New Zealand to take up the role of Head of Strength and Conditioning at Taranaki in 2009.
In 2011, he moved across the ditch to Australia’s capital as the Athletic Performance Coach at the ACT Brumbies in Super Rugby.
Walters headed back to the Northern Hemisphere in 2012 to join Munster Rugby as Head of Athletic Performance, where he remained for six seasons before being recruited by the South Africa Rugby Union in 2018.
