Having played in the front row, back row and at outside centre, Bob Singer says his ‘straight-running’ approach lends itself to his new position at No8.
Originally from Grantham in Lincolnshire, Bob now attends Stamford School and describes former Tigers prop Logovi’i Mulipola as a big influence on his game.
“Mulipola was always a massive one for me – in more ways than one,” he says. “I like to take his example to run straight and hard, don’t stop, and don’t ask any questions.
“Playing at 8 gives me a bit of freedom and the athleticism of the position really lends itself to my style of game.”
Bob played for Kesteven RFC in the Prima Tiger Cup and he came through DPP group at Newark to join the academy.
He adds: “The coaches at the DPP really helped me realise that I wasn’t just a big lad, I’ve got a set of hands and a brain to help me play.”
