European Cup winner Glenn Gelderbloom provided valuable support and guidance for scrum-half Charlie Titcombe on his way to selection in the Leicester Tigers academy.
After playing his first rugby at Colchester RFC and then joining Stamford RFC when his family moved to the East Midlands, Charlie settled at fly-half where he says Beauden Barrett and Owen Farrell provide perfect role models.
“I got into the DPP after playing at Oakham School,” he says. “Glenn Gelderbloom was one of the coaches at school and in the DPP. He was always there to do extra sessions if we needed them and has been very influential.”
Charlie has been a regular visitor on Welford Road matchdays, where he says he watches George Ford, Ben Youngs and Matt Toomua closely.
