Originally from Nottingham, Connor played for Syston and Melton Mowbray rugby clubs on his way into the Tigers Academy.
Having previously played at outside centre, Connor is hoping to use his athletics pedigree – competing at both 100 and 200 metres – to good effect after a move into the back three.
Connor joined the Tigers academy after being picked up through the Talent Development Group in early 2019.
“Tigers are the ‘home’ Premiership club for me, so I’ve always been to watch the games,” he says. “I first came down to Welford Road when I was quite young, maybe five or something, but I can still remember how loud it was.”
Getting to know you
If you could meet a famous person, dead or alive, who would it be?
I’d like to meet Jeremy Clarkson, just because he’s funny and I bet I could have a good laugh with him.
Who’s the most famous person you’ve taken a selfie with?
I had one with [South Africa scrum-half] Faf de Klerk a couple of months ago, up at Sale Sharks. That was good.
If you could have one superpower, what would it be and why?
It would probably be the common one – super strength. Just because it’s quite cool, and it means I’d be able to lift anything.
