Since joining the Tigers academy earlier this year, the former fly-half now operates across the back three as a full-back or on either wing.
Heralding from Scunthorpe, the youngster is a product of the Lincolnshire DPP system having been selected when he was 12 years old.
“I massively enjoyed my time in the DPP and it demonstrated to me the level of competition around to make it in the game”, he says.
“My coach at the time Diccon Edwards stressed the importance of gaining weight and building my strength which helped me to push on.
Lugsden has actually played on the famous Welford Road pitch before. He explained: “I played for my local team Scunthorpe in the Prima Cup back when I was nine. I remember scoring a try and some of the fans watching cheering."
