Kit Smith was an early starter in rugby, attending his first events at his local club in Tamworth as a four-year-old.
“I loved it from the start, but then I played football for a while,” he says. “I went back to rugby when the contact started and it went from there.
“I made some good friends and stuck with it. I used to play 12 but the coaches thought I was better suited for the back row as I got older.”
From there, Kit came through the trials system to make it to DPP level at Walsall and Keele, then joined the academy in 2018.
He was among four Tigers academy players selected for the England Under-18 development tour to South Africa in August 2019.
