Born in Staffordshire and a former first-team captain at Denstone College, Sam Lewis joined the Leicester Tigers academy after playing club rugby with Stafford and Stoke.
Capped by England at under-18 level, Sam graduated from the Tigers academy to join the development squad in 2016/17 and made his first appearance at Premiership ‘A’ League level at the start of the campaign.
Able to play at lock or flanker, he made his senior debut in the Anglo-Welsh Cup during 2017/18 and gained an England Under-20s call-up for the Six Nations before heading to the World Championships in France where England went all the way to the Final.
