A former national level swimmer, Scott McVea played his junior rugby with Lutterworth RFC and Lutterworth High School before joining the Tigers academy from the local DPP group.
“I played in the county team and was invited down to Oval Park and it went from there,” second-rower Scott says.
“The DPP programme really highlights the importance of the right training and the right attitude.
“Jamie Taylor has had a big impact on my rugby at Tigers, and at Lutterworth it was Kev Jones who helped me a lot. He made me captain one season and that helped my confidence. I had to be more vocal and that helped me as well.
“I’m still heavily involved with Lutterworth, I go to watch them whenever I can – I was at Welford Road for the County Cup Final.”
He comes from a strong rugby bloodline as his dad made more than 300 first-team appearances for Evesham RFC and Scott’s brother plays senior rugby at Lutterworth.
