DECEMBER NOMINEES
See below the three nominees for December's Topp Try-Umph of the month which were selected from the below fixtures:
- LEICESTER TIGERS v Gloucester Rugby
- London Irish v LEICESTER TIGERS
- LEICESTER TIGERS v Exeter Chiefs
- LEICESTER TIGERS v Brive
- Bayonne v LEICESTER TIGERS
Richard Wigglesworth (v Gloucester)
Premiership Rugby’s record appearance-holder made quite an impression in his debut for Tigers, pushing the team on from his scrum-half role and also latching on to some smart work close to the left touchline to chase Harry Potter’s clever kick in behind the Gloucester defence and score a 24th-minite try in the bonus-point victory in the opening fixture of the season.
Ben Youngs (v Brive)
The record-breaking international scrum-half announced his return from a victorious Autumn Nations Cup campaign with a vital score in the opening European Challenge Cup fixture of the season against Brive. Tigers started well but really kicked on after Youngs, making his re-appearance from the bench, supplied the finish in the 66th minute from an enterprising break featuring Jaco Taute and debutant Matias Moroni to dive in at the right-hand corner.
Nemani Nadolo (v Brive)
The Fijian powerhouse added a signature score in the closing moments of the home win over Brive in the opening game of the European Challenge Cup, reading a break from Ben Youngs and then providing the finish that defenders dread, running hard down the left touchline to dive in and provide the vital bonus-point try in the last seconds of the game.
