Facilities/Maintenance Supervisor

Reports to: Facilities Manager

Main Area of Responsibility

1. To assist the facilities manager in all operational areas to ensure that the site is maintained to the highest standard, thereby ensuring the health and safety of all visiting customers and employees.

2. To maintain good working relations with all departments.

Key tasks

The incumbent will be required to assist the facilities manager in all operational areas in order to perform those areas of responsibility listed above which include but are not limited to those tasks listed below.

• To be a senior member of the maintenance team and undertake maintenance and administrative duties as instructed.
• To ensure that all necessary safety audit checks are completed on a daily, weekly and monthly basis as required.
• To source stock and materials as necessary and in line with the facilities budgets.
• To partake in an on-call rota, covering evening and weekend functions.
• To contact and schedule contractors and action repairs as necessary.
• To schedule annual maintenance across Welford Road, Oval Park and Stoneygate sites.
• To provide a safe environment within which events are held and staff work in a collaborative way to ensure the provision of agreed service standards and departmental goals.
• To ensure all contractors and visitors are aware of their safety responsibilities.
• To carry out any other duties and tasks required by management, which are within the post-holder's capabilities.
• To assist in Tigers vision to make Leicester Tigers the best rugby club in the world.

Key Skills

• Excellent knowledge of building fabric in general
• Excellent knowledge of general maintenance skills/building experience
• Ability to create maintenance schedules
• Knowledge of building maintenance systems
• Ability to lift heavy loads
• Good communications skills
• Good administrative and organisation skills
• Ability to work under pressure
• Flexible (out of hours work / maintenance cover rota required)
• Customer focussed and service orientated
• Clean Driving licence essential

Main Area of Responsibility

The role of the STEWARD is:

• To ensure that all visitors to Leicester Football Club Plc experience a safe and enjoyable visit to the club.
• To assist with the circulation of spectators, prevent overcrowding, reduce the incidence of disorder or incident and provide the means to investigate, report and take early action in an emergency.
• To ensure the safety and well being of all visitors from the time they enter the stadium to the time they depart.
• The STEWARD must be well-dressed and present a professional and courteous attitude to all customers. The STEWARD must also be fully acquainted with all areas of the stadium in order to direct customers as required.

Key tasks

• To understand their general responsibilities towards the health and safety and welfare of all spectators, other stewards, ground staff and themselves.
• To carry out safety checks.
• To control or direct spectators who are entering or leaving the ground, to achieve an even flow of people to and from the viewing areas.
• To assist in the safe operation of the ground, not to view the activity taking place.
• To staff entrances, exits and other strategic points.
• To recognise crowd conditions so to ensure the safe dispersal of spectators and the prevention of overcrowding, particularly on terraces or viewing slopes.
• To assist the emergency services as required.
• To provide basic emergency first aid.
• To respond to emergencies (such as the early stages of a fire), to raise the alarm and take the necessary immediate action.
• To undertake specific duties in an emergency or as directed by the safety officer or the appropriate emergency safety officer.
• To carry out any other duties and tasks required by management, which are within the post-holder's capabilities.
• To assist in Tigers vision to make Leicester Tigers the best rugby team in the world.
