Introduction to the Programme
The award winning HITZ programme tackles some of the greatest challenges facing young people today - unemployment, crime and disillusionment.
What is the aim of the programme?
Delivered nationally by Premiership Rugby and funded by partners Barclays, Comic Relief, Land Rover and Wooden Spoon, HITZ uses rugby to increase young people's resilience, self-reliance and confidence. It gives them the skills to get back into education, vocational training, apprenticeships and employment. HITZ gives those with no hope new hope.
Who can get involved in the programme?
The programme is suitable for any young people between the ages of 16-24 who are not in Education, Employment or Training. The course will offer young people the opportunity to gain relevant sporting qualifications, alongside employability and money managements, as well as the chance to take part in daily practical sessions and activities. With the help of our enthusiastic staff, we hope that the young people that attend will be able to leave with a new found confidence and readiness to succeed in education or employment.
