In partnership with the SMB College Group, the HITZ Jump into Employment course is based at Stephenson College (Coalville) and is centred on enhancing the employability of young people not in education, employment or training.
The course provides the opportunity to gain accredited Maths and English qualifications and a BTEC Work Skills Level 2 Certificate, alongside blocks of work experience placements, physical activity and bespoke personal development sessions. HITZ Jump into Employment is centred on life in work and employability, embedded in the culture and values of the Leicester Tigers Foundation.
How does the course work?
HITZ Jump into Employment is aimed at leaners 16-19 years, however places for 19+ leaners will be considered on an individual basis. The course is 16 weeks long, with the cohort of learners starting in September 2022.
A typical day would consist of engaging classroom sessions and bespoke enrichment opportunities, including sport, workshops and guest speakers. There will also be work placement opportunities a part of the course, aimed at giving leaners practical experience within a workplace, in an industry that interests them.
