Rob Knapp will make waves at this year's Walk4Matt by paddling the 110 miles to the Aviva Premiership Final in a tin bath.

The 5th annual Walk4Matt kicks off in Rugby on Saturday, May 18 and finishes at Twickenham on Saturday, May 25 for the showpiece finale to the season.

Scores of walkers are set to take part in the walk along the Grand Union Canal and raise money for the Matt Hampson Foundation, but Rob has decided on a novel approach to the event.

“I just thought it would be a different way to tackle the course,” Rob told the Leicester Mercury. “I have had to make some modifications to make it seaworthy.

“It’s going to be hard work but I am determined to go the whole way in the bath.”

Tigers fans are being encouraged to take part in two day-long walks on the opening weekend of Walk4Matt.

The first is on Saturday, May 18 from the Old Royal Oak pub in Rugby to the Heart of England pub in Weedon, Northamptonshire and the second is on Sunday, May 19, starting in Weedon and finishing at the Navigation at Cosgrove near Milton Keynes.

Tigers fans can also crew one of the fleet of narrow boats for the week taking on roles such as skipper and lockhand. They are set to be joined by Tigers legends including Craig Newby, Harry Ellis and Freddie Tuilagi.

Walk4Matt will link up with Cycle4Matt at Cosgrove. Cycle4Matt are cycling to all 12 Aviva Premiership clubs and the Grand Final and are due to finish their second leg at the Navigation Inn. More details on Cycle4Matt are available here

In previous years Tigers greats such as Martin Johnson, Graham Rowntree and Dusty Hare have joined in the walk and there are sure to be more famous names getting involved for the 2013 event.
