Tigers stars to visit Stamford Rugby Camp

Brett Deacon, an Aviva Premiership winner with Leicester Tigers last season, and new signing Ryan Lamb will be passing on their expert advice at the club's Stamford School Rugby Camp.

Deacon has come up through the ranks at Welford Road to make 135 appearances in two spells at his home-town club and captained the team during their LV= Cup campaign.

He played his part in Tigers’ successful Aviva Premiership campaign which saw them crowned champions of England for a record tenth time, with Deacon picking up his third league winners’ medal.

The 31-year-old back rower will be taking part in a question and answer session with young players on the Rugby Camp, discussing life as a professional rugby player and passing on his tips.

Deacon will be joined by new arrival Lamb at the Tigers Rugby Camp (July 29 to August 2).

England Saxons international Lamb, the former Gloucester, London Irish and Northampton Saints fly-half, will also pass on his expert advice during the Q&A and talk about settling into life at Welford Road.

Supported by energy efficiency experts Mark Group, Tigers Rugby Camps give players who are playing contact rugby in next season's under-9s to under-16s age groups the chance to experience top-quality coaching in a professional environment.

The Rugby Camp at Stamford School will be led by two-time Heineken Cup winner Glenn Gelderbloom alongside the Tigers community coaching team.

The camp runs closely to the Tigers Academy and youth rugby programme, with coaches passing on some of the tips that took Tigers to a record 10th English title in 2012/13.

As well as expert tips in a fun and professional environment, each player will receive a match ticket to an allocated Tigers home game, a hot lunch, Tigers Rugby Camp T-shirt, rugby ball and drinks bottle, and free membership to the Junior Tigers Club.

Visit the community section of the Tigers club website by clicking here for more information and details on how to book a place.

Alternatively, phone the Tigers ticket office on 0844 856 1880 (option 2). The office is open 8.30am-5pm every weekday, until 8pm Wednesdays and 9am-5pm Saturdays.
