Leicester Tigers have reached another social media milestone with six-second video app Vine passing the 250,000 loops mark.

Tigers bring supporters closer to the club and the players by giving them a peek behind the scenes at Welford Road and Oval Park through short films posted on Vine.

The Vine videos are all six seconds long and include footage of match action, training and media conferences as well as films taken on away trips at home and abroad.

One of the Vine videos, taken on Armistice Day, shows director of rugby Richard Cockerill reading the names of the Tigers players who never returned from action in World War I before starting the traditional two minutes’ silence. Click here to watch the video.

The films are shared through the Leicester Tigers Twitter and Facebook pages and have now been watched 250,000 times and counting.

The latest milestone comes hot on the heels of the Tigers Family growing to more than 200,000 members on the club’s official social media pages. Tigers now have more than 135,000 likes on Facebook, are followed by almost 67,000 on Twitter and are approaching 13,000 fans of the club’s Instagram.

And the highlights of Tigers against the Barbarians have been watched almost 175,000 times on the Tigers YouTube channel.
