As a Leicester Tigers club charity, the Rik Basra Leukaemia Campaign met members of the first-team squad this week to pass on their best wishes ahead of Blood Cancer Awareness Month.Rik, from Leicester, is a leukaemia campaigner after his own experiences which showed the difficulty in finding suitable donors. Fortunately, Rik was able to find his donor at the 11th hour but many others are not so fortunate.   The Rik Basra Leukaemia Campaign has been adopted as a Tigers club charity this season and they are running the Pass it On Leicester Campaign through September. He joined Tigers players greg Bateman, Laurence Pearce, Sebastian de Chaves and George Catchpole for a launch photo at the Oval Park training ground this week.   The #PassItOnLeicester campaign will see every corner of the Leicester and Leicestershire community uniting to save lives.   Already, 31 companies and community groups have teamed up with Rik’s campaign and the Anthony Nolan Trust to host donor recruitment drives and awareness events, one on each day of September, to pass on the vital and lifesaving message that it’s easy to donate your stem cells.   For more information, click here.   Tigers will be hosting Rik at Tigers in the Park on the same day as the Kings of the North match against Newcastle Falcons on Saturday, September 19.   For more information on the Rik Basra Leukaemia Campaign, click here.
