Leicester Tigers supporters enjoyed sunshine and five hours of family events and attractions at Tigers In The Park ahead of Saturday's home fixture against Newcastle Falcons. Now in its fourth year, Tigers In The Park is based on Nelson Mandela Park and on the plaza outside Welford Road stadium, and this year took on a medieval theme as part of the Kings of the North tournament featuring Leicester Tigers, Newcastle Falcons and Sale Sharks in the build-up to the new league season.
Medieval-themed attractions included sword fighting, archery, falconry, inflatable jousting and minstrel music.
Attractions for younger supporters included bouncy castle, facepainting, circus workshop, STIHL inflatable tackle bag and the Tigers Speed Pass Challenge, while Junior Tigers Club members had a chance to take part in a prince and princess parade before the big game.
Club mascot Welford donned his knight’s attire for the occasion and was joined by Robin Hood and Marion, mascots of new club partners Nottingham Building Society.
Supporters were able to enjoy food and bars as well as meeting Tigers players and watching demonstrations of rugby skills including the Big Boot plus tag rugby and wheelchair rugby.
Sikh Community Centre dancers provided entertainment on the main stage and Tigers were also delighted to welcome club charities PROSTaid and RIK Basra Leukaemia Campaign, helping to raise awareness of their work.
The action transferred to the stadium at 3pm for the Kings of the North match between Tigers and Falcons.
Look out on the club website throughout the season for details of more matchday events and activities for the whole Tigers family.
