Leicester Tigers have agreed to the early release of lock Sam Carter.

Carter was granted the release to take up a new opportunity in his home country, Australia, with the Western Force. 

The former Wallaby made 15 appearances in Tigers colours having joined last Summer. 

Leicester Tigers general manager, Richard Wilks said: "We’ve really enjoyed Sam being at the club and I know he’s proud to have been a Tiger."

"When the opportunity presented itself for him and his young family to return to Australia we were happy to grant him an early release from his contract.

"Sam goes with our best wishes for the season with the Western Force."
