Leicester Tigers are excited to announce scrum-half Tom Whiteley has extended his contract with the club.

The 28-year-old was already contracted beyond the end of the current campaign, but after a breakout season in Tigers colours Whiteley has committed his future to the club.

Whiteley has already featured in 21 games so far this season, including every Gallagher Premiership fixture, earning a starting jersey in six out of 12 league games.

Leicester Tigers scrumhalf, Tom Whiteley said: “I’m delighted to extend my contract with Tigers.

“It’s a privilege to play for this great rugby club, and I will do everything I can to repay the confidence placed in me.”

Born and bred in London, Whiteley spent the majority of his early career at Saracens where he made 62 appearances.

A move to Bristol followed but Whiteley would then join Tigers midway through the 2022/23 season.

Leicester Tigers General Manager, Richard Wilks said: “We’re really pleased Tom has extended his contract with the club.

“On the pitch, you can clearly see his commitment and desperation to win and he’s showed even more of his ability to create this season as well.

“You need characters in your group and Tom is certainly that. He’s got that dry, acerbic sense of humour but behind it is someone who just wants to play the game and succeed and we love that about him.”
