Leicester Tigers set a new record for the highest attendance for an Anglo-Welsh Cup pool fixture at today's game against Northampton Saints. The LV= Cup game at Welford Road was a 24,000 sell-out, making it the largest pool stage attendance since the inception of the Anglo-Welsh competition in 2005.
It beat the second highest attendance of 20,616, set at the visit of Bath Rugby to Welford Road last January. The gate represents the largest-ever crowd in the competition under its current sponsors LV=.
And when semi-final and final attendances are included, 24,000 at Welford Road ranks 10th on the all-time Anglo-Welsh Cup highest attendance list. The 2008 final at Twickenham between Tigers and Ospreys is the most attended fixture (65,756).
The only way to guarantee your place for all home games at Welford Road is with a season ticket. Tigers have more than 15,000 season ticket holders for this campaign and season tickets are available now for the 2015/16 season via the Tigers ticket office, on 0116 319 8888, or online by clicking here.
