Tigers Wheelchair Rugby and Swifts enjoy successful start to WR5s

Leicester Tigers wheelchair rugby team got off to a successful defence of thier WR5s title last weekend.

The side got off to the perfect start with a four wins out of four games, including a derby victory over Northampton Saints. The full list of results are as follows:

  • Leicester Tigers 25 - 7 Berkshire Banshees
  • Northampton Saints 10 - 35 Leicester Tigers
  • Leicester Tigers 25 - 13 North East Barbarians
  • Help for Heroes 9 - 27 Leicester Tigers

Last Sunday, April 14, the team travlled north to Sunderland's Beacon of Light venue to compete on a day which not only saw four vital wins but also saw four members of the squad win 'Best in Class' awards respectively.

  • Laurence Ball won 'Best in Class 0.5'
  • Tom Folwell won 'Best in Class 1.5'
  • Vicki Ross won 'Best in Class 2.0'
  • Joe Smith won 'Best in Class 3.0'

Meanwhile, also in action at the weekend, the Leicester Tigers Swifts got off to a flying start in League Two of WR5s.

Although not quite a perfect record, the side still recorded an impressive four wins from five games on Saturday, April 13.

Not only that, but Jack Coulson also won 'Best in Class 0.5' for the tournament, making it a total of five 'Best in Class' awards for Leicester Tigers across two days of action.
