Hundreds of Junior Tigers Club members enjoyed the sunshine as they joined first-teamer Laurence Pearce, club mascot Welford and the Junior Tigers Club team for a special day out at Wistow Maze on Saturday.Welford and the JTC team visited Wistow Maze as part of their JTC Day Out on one of the hottest days of the summer.
Tigers No8 Pearce was also there to help to Welford and young supporters find their way through the maze as well as challenge them on the tackle-o-meter.
Stationed just before the entrance to the maze, the popular Speed Pass Challenge and tackle-o-meter were running to add to the maze’s range of activities including Space Hopper racers and mini maze.
Wistow Maze has a new theme and layout each summer and this year, to honour the Tigers and the Rugby World Cup, it is designed as a rugby player.
Wistow’s is the country’s largest maize maze and a popular family destination during the eight weeks it is open each year. It is open until September 20.
Welford and the young Tigers fans all took part in the maze challenge – and took home a Leicester Tigers flag if they managed to find their way out. We’re hoping Welford makes it before the match against Argentina on September 5!
The JTC welcomed its 40,000th member last season and is set to be even more successful this year. For more details or to register free online, click here.
