Delhi Hurricanes

Delhi Hurricanes joined the Leicester Tigers global partner club family in August 2018.

The partnership followed a record-breaking year for The Hurricanes as they became the first club to see its Men’s and Women’s teams finish top of the All India & South Asia leagues in the same year.

Founded in 2004, the club has supplied more than 35 players to the Indian National Team and last year, welcomed more than 2,000 players, coaches and supporters for a day of youth and senior matches at the Rise with Rugby Festival in New Delhi.

The clubs also share a historic link as both Tigers and India played against another in an exhibition match back at Welford Road in 2003. Delhi Hurricanes head coach Kuldeep Singh Bist actually played in that game against the likes of Brett Deacon and George Chuter.

Delhi Hurricanes and Tigers aim to help the development of the game in India building links with the local community, create commercial opportunities and support rugby and its many social benefits.
