Ben Kay

Rugby World Cup winner, British & Irish Lion, England international, double European champion and six-time English league champion, Ben Kay retired in 2010 as one of the most successful players in rugby history.

Joining Leicester Tigers from Waterloo when the club’s senior players were away on World Cup duty in 1999, Kay made 281 appearances up to his retirement in 2010 as well as earning 62 caps for England.

A central part of the World Cup-winning squad of 2003, when he partnered captain Martin Johnson in the second row, he played in a second Final four years later. Kay also played in two Tests for the Lions in 2005. He received an MBE as part of the 2003 winning team.

A partner at an award-winning advertising agency, Kay moved in to the media as part of the BT Sport rugby commentary team as well as joining the board of trustees of Rugby Players’ Association charity Restart.
