He was a nomination too for LV= Young Player of the Year in the RPA Awards and picked up a Green Flag Forward of the Month award in a campaign which brought 23 appearances and four tries.
Twice named as the club’s Player of the Month in 2015/16, he also picked up the supporters’ Young Player of the Year award for a second time, joined by the prize for Try of the Season and Players’ Young Player of the Year.
Thacker was included in senior company for a first time as an unused replacement in the Anglo-Welsh Cup tie away to Harlequins in 2011/12 and then played all three games as England Under-18s won the European Championship in Madrid, scoring a try in the final win over Ireland.
A member of the Tigers squad that topped the Aviva Premiership Academy Under-18 League in 2012/13, he claimed a hat-trick of tries in the last-round win over Northampton and marked his senior debut with a try against Saracens in November 2012.
