The route from schools rugby in Hinckley to the Leicester Tigers has been a successful one over many years, with Ollie Smith and Sam Harrison just two of the notable players to take that route in the game.
Jack Rowntree began playing rugby in the under-8s age-group in Hinckley and attended Hastings High School in the town as he joined the DPP at Tigers.
“Mark Campion coached me all the way through the club and one of his main messages was not to give up if you fail,” says Jack, the son of former Tigers, England and British Lions loosehead Graham.
“Then in the DPP, Jason Button was always positive in his coaching. If you did something wrong he wanted you to learn from it and give you the encouragement to do better.”

If you could have one superpower, what would it be and why?
To be able to fly would be good, everyone loves that idea. It would be good to fly around space too because there is a lot we haven’t even seen yet.

'Bad Boys For Life' by P.Diddy, it’s a good gym session tune.
