A prop capable of playing on either side of the front row, Luan de Bruin signed for Tigers at the start of the 2020/21 season after more than 50 appearances for the Cheetahs in South Arica.
Born in Pretoria, Luan played youth rugby for the Blue Bulls and represented South Africa at Under-18 level before moving to Free State in 2012. He appeared in their Under-19s and in 2013 represented UFS Shimlas in the Varsity Cup. He was also a member of South Africa’s Under-20s squad at the Junior World Championship.
Luan made his senior provincial debut during the 2014 Super Rugby season.
In 2020, he was a member of the Green Squad in the internal fixture for the Springboks.
