A former age-group international, back-rower Luke Hamilton joined Leicester in the summer of 2016 after two seasons in France with Agen.

A prominent ball-carrier as Agen won promotion from Pro2 in his first season in 2014/15, he topped the tackling stats in Top 14 rugby the following season before securing a move to Tigers.

In his maiden season at Welford Road in 2016/17 he was nominated in the Player of the Season and best newcomer categories at the supporters’ awards.

Born in Pembrokeshire, Hamilton played at the Scarlets and alongside Owen Williams with Wales Under-20s at the World Junior Championships in South Africa before a spell with Cardiff Blues.
