Seb Smith

Player Stats

John Cleveland College in Hinckley has a long association with the Tigers, and back-rower Seb Smith is among its latest graduates hoping to follow in the footsteps of Manu Tuilagi, Sam Harrison, Sam Vesty and Ollie Smith at the club.

“I played football but as I got bigger my parents thought I should try rugby so I went to the Hinckley club when I was nine and enjoyed it straight away,” says Seb.

“I played in the back row until a couple of seasons ago when I moved to prop.”

He gained selection into the Tigers DPP base at Hinckley where Jason Button led the coaching team and then moved into the academy for the start of the 2019/20 season.

    Getting to know you

Do you remember your first trip to Welford Road?
It was watching Tigers against Bath in 2010 with my family. I just remember the crowd, the atmosphere and the full stadium.

Apart from Tigers, which other teams do you follow?
I’m a Liverpool fan. I also keep an eye on my local club at Hinckley and on Warrington in rugby league.

If you could have one superpower, what would it be and why?
Teleportation, so I could move from place to place.
