Nottingham Building Society Tag Rugby

The children really enjoyed the sessions in school and the festival. There was excellent progression in skills and confidence. A fantastic festival, very well organised and the children loved seeing Welford and their NBS t-shirts.

Nottingham Building Society activity sheets

Nottingham Building Society have created some fun rugby-themed Maths activities for you to try at home. Its not a test so don’t worry if you can’t answer all the questions! If you do want to find out how you’ve done, you could ask someone in your family to check your answers for you.

Nottingham Building Society Tag Rugby

Into its fifth year, the programme has involved over 100 schools in and around Leicestershire, coaching and introducing TAG rugby to more than 9,500 year 3 to 4 pupils, thanks to support from the Nottingham Building Society.

Take a look below at what the sessions have to offer:

  • Week 1-5: Game based sessions where the children will be set challenges to overcome and problems to solve. Each game will be followed by a question based review which will allow the children to discuss learnings, as a group, before implementing those learnings straight into practice in the following game. The focus will be on building the children’s creativity, awareness and resilience whilst improving their decision making and self-organisation.
  • Week 6: Festival held at a local club competing against other local schools.

In the final week, we organise a TAG rugby festival at a local rugby club, where it will be the first taste of competitive rugby for many children. We aim to allow schools that are new to the game to participate in a fun festival with other local schools.
