Leicester Tigers are among the top 100 social media brands for the second year in a row, according to an influential study released today.

Tigers are the only rugby club to feature in the Social Brands 100 and one of only two sports teams featured along with Premier League football team Southampton.

It is the second successive year that Tigers have been included in the Social Brands 100, which benchmarks brand engagement across Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.

A total of 715 brands were nominated and Tigers are ranked 58th ahead of the likes of Vodacom, Virgin Media and Toyota UK.

Tigers have more than 100,000 users of our social media channels and this week passed 40,000 followers on Twitter. First-team players including Geordan Murphy, Tom Croft and Manu Tuilagi said a big thank you to some of those Twitter followers in a special video on the Tigers YouTube channel. Tigers regularly post player interviews and match highlights on our YouTube channel as well.

Thousands of fans will link up with @LeicesterTigers on Twitter for the Aviva Premiership Final this Saturday and come together under the #Tigersfamily hashtag.

They will be able to send the team good luck messages and tweets, share their stories and photos of the day and take part in our #TigerSpy game for the journey to Twickenham.

And once the match has kicked off, Tigers will keep them up-to-date with the action on the pitch under the #TigersLive hashtag.

Tigers have more than 66,000 users on Facebook, where they can share their match discussion and views, photos and videos and get involved with fellow fans. Tigers will be posting photos and updates from Twickenham and encouraging fans to share their pictures of the day.

The Social Brands 100 was topped by Battlefield, the Electronic Arts video game. Tigers sponsors Next were ranked 21 in the report while John Lewis came in at 99 and Butlins, which hosts our Tigers Challenge weekends in Skegness and Minehead, were 87th.
